GURDWARA SRI DERA BABA NANAK SAHIB is situated in the Dera Baba Nanak city of Gurdaspur District. As its name defines its related to SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI. GURU SAHIB came to meet his family, wife Sulakhani Ji, Son Baba Sri Chand Ji and Baba Lakhami Das Ji after first Udasi. They were had come to meet Mata Sulakhni Ji's father Lala Mulraaj, who was patwari (Revenue Officer) at Village Pakhoke Randhawa. When GURU SAHIB came here, he used to meditate on bank of well Ajita Randhawa da khooh. On the Stage situated in the Gurudwara Sahib, GURU SAHIB had discussion with Ajita Randhawa and later he became GURU SAHIBs follower. When SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI's body was cremated at GURDWARA SRI DARBAR SAHIB KARTARPUR, PAKISTAN, The pot containing ashes of GURU SAHIB was also buried there. But some time later there was flood in Ravis and it was approaching towards GUUDWARA SAHIB. Baba Sri Chand took the pot of ashes from there and buried it here at the place of Thara Sahibs. SRI GURU ARJAN DEV JI came here and did kirtan at time of death of Baba Dharam Chand Ji (Grand Son of SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI). This place was also visited by SRI GURU ANGAD DEV JI, SRI GURU AMAR DAS JI and SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI. Later the golden guband(Dome) was made by Maharaj Ranjit Singh ji. Dera Baba Nanak being situated only 1 km from India Pakistan border, and GURDWARA SRI DARBAR SAHIB KARTARPUR, PAKISTAN is just 4 km from border. In 2019 Pakistan Govt opened a special corridor for Indian Sangat who go there and have darshan without any Visa requirement.
