GURDWARA SRI JANI SHAH JI SAHIB

Syed Jani Shah Ji, a Muslim had left his family in search of God. He was wandering day and night, he worshiped the incarnations of Hindus and Muslims, prayed five prayers and kept fast but found nothing. Someone told him about SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI. After hearing about their glory, he was very happy. SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI was sitting on SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI's throne. And in those days GURU SAHIB was camping here at Sri Hargobindpur. So Jani Shah ji came here and met Khawaja Roshan ji (the horse attendant of SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI). Jani Shah ji told Khwaja ji about his condition. After listening, Khwaja ji glorified SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI and said that you should stay here and meditate.

Hearing this, Jani Shah ji also sat here and suffered hunger, thirst, day and night in the shade of the sun. After some time, GURU SAHIB sent his Sikhs to Jani Shah ji to give him wealth, garments or anything else he want. But Jani Shah ji abandoned all these things and said "Jani ko jani Mila do" GURU SAHIB got a wall constructed a high wall to test him. But Jani Shah ji remained sitting in his devotion. When the Sikhs requested again, GURU SAHIB said that if Jani wants to meet Jani, then he should jump into the river Beas. The Sikhs conveyed GURU SAHIB's message to Jani Shah ji. Hearing these words Jani Shah ji ran towards the river beas.

GURU SAHIB sent Bhai Bidhi ji to bring Jani Shah ji back. Jani Shah ji came and bowed at GURU SAHIB's feet. GURU SAHIB hugged Syed Jani Shah ji and blessed him with Jani (God) and also blessed whoever comes to your court with devotion, his wishes will be fulfilled.
